Susumu, born in Sapporo, Japan, started violin at age 3 with violin masters such as Masao & Tsuneko Araya at Sapporo Conservatory of Music and Isako Shinozaki in Tokyo. Since 1991, he has regularly studied with international violinists such as Rodney Friend at the Royal College of Music and Ivry Gitlis in Paris. His debut CD ‘Susumu Okajima plays Bartok & Maderna’ was released in 2008. His vast repertoire spans from the early romantic to the avant-gardes. His Violin is an 1817 Lorenzo Ventapane from Naples. He is also a renowned Doctor of Medicine highly qualified both in UK and Japan.
Dominic John studied with Patsy Toh at the Junior Royal Academy of Music, and with John Barstow and Andrew Ball at the Royal College of Music. He held the RCM Society Junior Fellowship from 2004-2006, is active as a soloist, member of various ensembles, and accompanist. Awards include the Chappell Gold Medal and he was the winner of the 2004 British Music Society Awards (piano). John has performed with violinist Itzhak Perlman, played concertos with the Osaka Philharmonic in Symphony Hall, Osaka. He is a staff accompanist at the Junior Department, Royal Academy of Music. He has just released his first CD ‘Variations in Sound’
