Formed by top young professionals on the London music scene who originally met whilst studying, Flutophonic are an innovative and versatile flute quartet. Together they have performed in venues around the UK, promoting creative programming and arranging combined with high class ensemble playing and a flair, enthusiasm and passion for music. As well as traditional repertoire they include extended techniques in their arrangements, hence becoming the world’s first beat-boxing flute quartet!

Working as free lance musicians, the members of Flutophonic enjoy rich and varied work and collectively have performed with orchestras such as the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Welsh National Opera, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, the BBC Philharmonic, Scottish Ballet and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, as well gaining apprenticeships with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Opera, the LSO and the Philharmonia. They have performed in major venues including the Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room, The Royal Festival Hall, St. John Smith Square, St. James’ Piccadilly, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Henry Wood Hall, Cadogan Hall and The Hoddinott Concert hall in Cardiff. They are also passionate about education and hope to help inspire a new generation of young beat-boxing flautists!
